Historic Resources Property List

This inventory is a list of historic properties selected from the Cultural Resource Inventory conducted in 1988-89. The list currently contains 40 properties within the city of Milwaukie. Most of the landmarks were placed on the inventory through a Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Ordinance amendment in 1989, and some properties have been added and removed by individual property owners since that time.

The properties listed on the inventory have been selected for their role in telling the story of the community's growth. Properties were ranked according to historical, architectural, and environmental (contextual) importance.

Reviewing plans for exterior alterations for a "significant" home or building that is on the inventory generally requires land use review by the Planning Director or Planning Commission, which is an additional step before building permit submittal and approval. Appendix 1 of the Comprehensive Plan includes the list of properties. The below list provides links to the Cultural Resource Form for listed properties. The list is provided by the Planning Department and includes all of the properties originally listed. Documentation for each property may be obtained from the Planning Department.
