Events

Milwaukie's signature events bring long-time residents and newcomers together to enjoy each other’s company and celebrate what makes the city unique. The city hosts the following signature events each year:

• Earth Day
• CareFree Sunday
• Arbor Day
• Umbrella Parade & Tree Lighting
• Winter Solstice

In addition to these signature events, individual city departments and committees organize a number of smaller events throughout the year. These include community services like shred days and leaf drops, as well as recreational events like Porchfest and the annual scarecrow contest.

The city also issues permits for events in public spaces organized by neighborhood district associations and other community groups. Examples include First Friday and summer concerts.
