Project Status

The project was initiated in 2022.  Monthly project updates are emailed to partners and stakeholders, with direct communication to landowners adjacent to the project.

Project phase: Final Design and Permitting (Phase 2).

Major Accomplishments:

• Approximately $1 million in seed funding was raised from private, local, state, and federal sources to initiate the project in 2022.
• The project received an award of $15 million from the NOAA Restoration Center .

Next milestone: Summer 2024 Geotechnical and Sediment Evaluation Study.
