OR 99E Paving Project: SE Harold Street (Portland) to SE Harrison Street (Milwaukie)

Project Details

ODOT will begin construction in March 2017 to repave 2.6 miles of OR 99E (McLoughlin Blvd) from SE Harold Street to SE Harrison Street. This stretch of OR 99E travels through southeast Portland and Milwaukie. The pavement, last replaced in in 1994, has deteriorated and needs to be repaired.  Grinding and repaving the highway will repair and preserve the roadway and provide a smoother roadway surface. The Crystal Springs Creek Bridge will also be replaced with a new culvert.

2016 ADA Improvements

Project Details

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) ensures access to the built environment for people with disabilities. The ADA Standards establish design requirements for the construction and alteration of facilities subject to the law. These enforceable standards apply to places of public accommodation, commercial facilities, and state and local government facilities.

A majority of the sidewalk ramps throughout Milwaukie were constructed before ADA regulations were enacted. The purpose of this project is to upgrade existing curb ramps that do not currently meet ADA Standards.

Kronberg Park Multi-Use Trail

Project Details

Located between Kellogg Lake and SE McLoughlin Boulevard, the Kronberg Park Multi-Use Trail will connect the Kellogg Creek Bike-Pedestrian Bridge and downtown Milwaukie area with the nearby sidewalk, crosswalk, and Trolley Trail at the south end of the park while restoring and preserving existing habitat. Kellogg Bridge Replacement

Project Details

On Dec. 8, 2015, record rainfall caused significant scouring near the footings of the bridge on Milwaukie Riverfront Park that crosses Kellogg Creek. This is the bridge that is on city property in Riverfront Park, not the bridge carrying McLoughlin traffic. In March 2016, Hart Crowser provided geotechnical engineering services for an emergency repair of the existing bridge due to a bank failure that occurred during the rain event. Due to the compromised condition of the existing bridge and the cost of needed repairs, the city has chosen to replace, rather than repair the bridge.
