Downtown Curbs and Storm

Project Details

This project will replace the sidewalk on Main Street, between Monroe and Jefferson Streets, and install pervious concrete. The sidewalk foundation will be replaced with Silva Cells to help with tree root health and prevent sidewalk uplift. Additionally, stormwater utilities will be added to meet current demand.

Washington-Monroe Street Greenway Open House

Stop by Wichita Park to get an update on the Washington-Monroe Street Greenway project. Ask questions, learn more about the project, give your feedback, and partake in light refreshments. Project staff will share a map of the current designs and a preliminary construction schedule. 

29th Avenue Greenway Improvements

Project Details

The city will be installing traffic calming infrastructure to promote bicyclist and pedestrian safety within the shared road. New bike/pedestrian warning signs will be installed at intersections facing traffic crossing the greenway. New green thermoplastic striping will be installed at intersections along the greenway to help bicyclist and pedestrian crossings. The City has provided the local Ardenwald NDA with yard signs to notify drivers of the greenway and to slow down. Contact your local Ardenwald NDA if you would like one!

Slurry Seal 2024

Project Details

Milwaukie’s Engineering Department has committed to Slurry Seal over 100,000 square yards of roadway during the summer of 2024. The slurry seal is a cost-effective method of reconditioning and extending the life of asphalt roadway surfaces. The treatment will improve the overall condition of Milwaukie’s public roads. Engineering keeps track of the condition of Milwaukie’s streets through asset management software and staff inspections.

Grind and Pave 2024

Project Details

The project objective is to grind and repave streets that are in poor condition and have been identified by the Public Works Staff, community members, and internal recommendations. The streets selected for this project were evaluated based on their Pavement Condition Index (PCI) along with inspections by city staff. This maintenance project includes the removal of 2 inches of asphalt and the re-installation of 2 inches of new asphalt to provide better quality streets for the community to utilize. Also included in this project is longitudinal striping.

52nd & Jackson Townhouse Development

Project Details

Please note that this is a privately owned and developed project, previously approved by the city’s Planning Commission.  The City of Milwaukie offers this information as a courtesy to our residents and businesses.  Additional information can be found on the 2023 land use application webpage, R-2023-001. This project includes the construction of a five- unit townhouse development at the southwest corner of 52nd Avenue and Jackson Street.
