Performance at the Museum

The Milwaukie Museum with Two Sisters Play Cafe and Professional Fools Productions present a special performance by Rhys Thomas of JuggleMania. Admission is free, but tips for the performer are appreciated. Blanket and lawn chairs are encouraged.

Juneteenth Celebration

A Juneteenth celebration will be held on Saturday, June 14 from 11 to 3 p.m. at Ball-Michel Park. This community-led gathering is an opportunity to celebrate, reflect and amplify Black voices in the city. The event will include music, vendors, food, face painting, kids games, and more! 

Juneteenth, also known as Emancipation Day, Jubilee Day, and Freedom Day, is the oldest nationally-celebrated holiday, honoring the freedom of enslaved people in the United States.

Open Mic and Poetry Reading on Zoom

Open Mic and Poetry Reading a virtual event on Zoom. Co-sponsored by the Milwaukie Poetry Series and St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church.

Our Featured Readers for July are the Pendleton Poets Group. They will read their own work or their favorite poems. Members who will read are Shaindel Beers, Bette Husted, Pamela Reese and Ki Russell. They have been featured writers at Pendleton Center for the Arts First Draft Writers’ Series, which has been inviting recognized Northwest writers since 2013.

Ardenwald-Johnson Creek Plant Sale

Support a future park in the Ardenwald-Johnson Creek neighborhood by purchasing some plants at the neighborhood's annual plant sale. This year will be the final fundraiser for Balfour Park leading up to its completion! 

The sale is an annual fundraiser for an undeveloped neighborhood park on Balfour St. To date, the neighborhood has raised more than $20,000 towards its development. 

Plants for sale have been donated by neighbors and feature many native plants, grasses, trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, herbs, and veggie starts.

First Friday Poetry Reading and Open Mic on Zoom

First Friday Open Mic and Poetry Reading a virtual event on Zoom. Co-sponsored by the Milwaukie Poetry Series and St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church.

Featured Readers are the Eugene First and Third Thursday Poetry Group. They will read their own work or their favorite poems. Members who will read are Quinton Hallett, Laura LeHew, Catherine McGuire, Nancy Carol Moody, Keli Osborne, Colette Tennant and Ingrid Wendt.. The Open Mic will follow their reading.

NCPRD - Parks for Pollinators Event - Master Gardener Session

Join NCPRD in celebrating pollinators and learning about the vital role they play in supporting a healthy ecosystem. This is a two part event, for community members with or without a yard and suitable for children ages 4-10.

On Saturday, May 15th participants can pick-up a free pollinator event kit from either North Clackamas Park (1-3 p.m.) or Springfield Park (10 a.m. - Noon).
