General Event

The library is closed Aug. 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for a citywide event.

The Milwaukie Museum, Two Sisters Play Café, Clackamas County Cultural Coalition and Milwaukie Lumber, along with Professional Fools Productions, present a performance by Spencer Sprocket on the back lawn of the museum. Feel free to bring a blanket or lawn chairs. There is no charge for admission, but tips for the performer are welcome.

This year's walk features a 3-kilometer route through downtown Milwaukie, taking in the delights of the Kronberg Multi-Use Trail and Park, Main Street, the Milwaukie Station food cart pod, coffee shops, restaurants and more! It's not a race, but a pleasant stroll that encourages taking stops along the way. Walks begin at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Participants are welcome to walk all or as few circuits as they wish, with the K9 companion(s) or by themselves. A raffle is held at the conclusion of the event.

This event will be a drop-in, open house style event with face painting, balloon animals, yard games, a kids design table, and other family friendly activities. Free food will also be provided to the first 50 participants! 

The Friends of the Library highly-missed annual book sale is back in a new and improved way. You now have the opportunity to browse and purchase from their larger inventory four times a year instead of just once. The second Quarterly Book Sale of 2022 will take place at the Library on Saturday, August 13th and Sunday, August 14th — from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day in the Community Room. Be sure to mark these dates and times on your calendar — as the Community Room will be filled with books, CDs, DVDs and merchandise for you to purchase and enjoy for time immemorial.

Due to the scheduled weather forecast for Tuesday, July 26 the Open House at Bowman-Brae has been postponed.  

All surveys, written information, and planning activities scheduled for the Open House will be available online on Engage Milwaukie.
