The City of Milwaukie is committed to protecting its community’s water quality from the impacts of sediments in our local streams, wetlands, rivers, and groundwater. The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has identified erosion as the single largest significant cause of impaired water quality in rivers, streams, and wetlands. Sediment deposition is a contributing factor in the decline of Salmonoid populations in our region and a reduction in flood storage.

The Public Works department has a set of standard erosion control notes for all construction plans.  Designers please include these notes with your plans.

Plumbing permits are required for plumbing work on private property. Plumbing permits do not include work done on public property (right-of-way). If you are working in the right-of-way, a separate Right of Way permit is required with a process that takes about 10 business days (two calendar weeks).
