Interlibrary Loan

Tables in adult library

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service through which you request materials that are not owned by libraries in Clackamas County for Clackamas County Library card holders. ILLs come from other libraries around the country. ILLs generally take at least two weeks to arrive. However, they may arrive sooner or later. There is no definite answer to this question. If the material you need is time sensitive, it is best to order as far in advance as possible. It is important to keep in mind that some materials are not available through ILL due to location, number of copies, individual institution policies and publication date. There is no charge for most ILL requests. If a lending library charges fees to borrow their materials, we would proceed only with your pre-approval of the cost. Get started by searching with WorldCat, a worldwide database of library materials.

You may submit an ILL request four ways:
Call
the Reference Librarian at 503.786.7546
Email the Reference Librarian at Ledding@milwaukieoregon.gov
Visit the Reference Desk in the Library
Online Form fill the form out to have your ILL request submitted electronically

To renew your ILL materials Call 503.723.4900 or Email ill@lincc.org.
Please note: renewals are up to the owning library of the material. Please allow 1-3 business days for a response to your request.

NOTICE: WARNING CONCERNING COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS
The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement.
This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
