Climate Action Week - Health and Safety

The natural hazards of climate change are being seen in the region, including an increased presence of wildfires. Milwaukie’s air quality declined from wildlife smoke last summer, impacting community health. Some simple actions in your home can improve your household air quality and prepare you for emergencies and hazards like these in the future.

Climate Action of the Day: Change your home’s air filter to improve indoor air quality and sign up for Clackamas County Public Alerts Notifications

Climate Action Week - Natural Resources

Milwaukie is home to a beautiful urban forest. Besides its importance to community health, habitat, and historical character, the city's urban forest captures carbon and slows down climate change. Milwaukie has goals to expand its tree canopy to 40% by 2035 so there is a lot of work to do!

Climate Action of the Day: Volunteer with a local nature organization and/or sign up to be an Arbor Day Foundation Member and receive free trees to plant in your yard or neighborhood
