Library Birthday Party

Five years ago, the new library opened its doors to the public. Help us celebrate the first five years in Milwaukie’s beautiful new library with treats, book bags, and lots of library gratitude. All ages.

Christmas Day: City Offices and Library Closed

City Hall (10501 SE Main St.), the Public Works Administration Building (6101 SE Johnson Creek Blvd.) and Ledding Library (10660 SE 21st Ave.) are closed in observance of the holiday.

City Offices Close at 3 PM - Library Closes at 5 PM

City Hall (10501 SE Main St.), the Public Works Administration Building (6101 SE Johnson Creek Blvd.) and the Police Records Desk (3200 SE Harrison St.) close at 3 p.m. today.

The Ledding Library (10660 SE 21st Ave.) will close at 5 p.m. today.

Spring Poetry Reading & Open Mic

The Milwaukie Poetry Series and the Ledding Library are celebrating National Poetry Month by sponsoring a Spring Reading and Open Mic on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 from 6:00-7:30 PM.

Our Featured Readers will read for approximately 40 minutes. This will be followed by an Open Mic.

Bilingual Poetry Reading - Al-Mutanabbi Street Starts Here!

In partnership with the Iraqi Society of Oregon and Al-Mutanabbi Street Starts Here! the Milwaukie Poetry Committee and the Ledding Library are hosting a bilingual poetry reading in Arabic and English. This event will include a video welcome and comments from Beau Beausoleil, founder and international coordinator of the Al Mutanabbi Street Starts Here! Coalition.

Milwaukie Poetry Series: Black History Month Celebration

This month the Milwaukie Poetry Series is celebrating Black History Month. Featured Readers TBD, to be followed by an Open Mic. We would ask that you read works of black poets.

Anyone who would like to participate in the Open Mic is welcome. You can be prepared to read two poems. 

Teen Movie & Craft

Join other 6-12th graders to watch Home Alone (PG), make a craft, and enjoy some snacks. 

Library Scavenger Hunt

Find 10 hidden pictures in the library for a prize. Stop by the children’s desk to get started.
