Vertical Housing Development Zone

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The VHDZ provides qualified development projects a 10-year property tax exemption on the value of new construction or rehabilitation for 20 percent per eligible residential floor(s) above a commercial ground floor with total exemption limited to no more than 80 percent. Additional exemption may be available for projects with affordable housing (land exemption of 20 percent per eligible floor up to 80 percent).

REMINDER: For missed pickups, call your hauler. City staff cannot schedule or address missed pick-ups and will ask you to contact your specific hauler. 
 

Solarize Milwaukie

In 2017, Milwaukie held a city-wide pilot program to help homes in the community go solar. Solarize Milwaukie's goal was to lower the cost of solar panels through bulk purchasing and take advantage of available tax credits.

Check out Milwaukie's food cart pod, located next to the Main St. Orange Line MAX Station at 11301 SE 21st Ave. Food carts are typically open between 11 a.m.

Downtown Parklet Program

A parklet is an extension of the sidewalk that creates additional space for amenities. Milwaukie’s Downtown Parklet Program seeks to increase downtown commercial activity and create additional attractive amenities for visitors and shoppers.
