Overview

The Milwaukie Municipal Court is the judicial branch of the city government, providing a local forum for the resolution of minor traffic violations, parking citations, minor in possession of tobacco, and violations of city ordinances. The court has jurisdiction over all city ordinances and traffic violations within the city limits.

Municipal Court staff can answer questions about the Violations Bureau, fine amounts and other administrative matters, but cannot give legal advice. If you need legal advice, consult an attorney.

What if I Miss My Court Date?

If you miss your court date for a traffic citation, the presumptive fine of the ticket you received is imposed and the court will add a $40 failure to appear fee to each violation. If you miss your court date for a parking citation, the fine amount on the citation will double. However, there are opportunities to reschedule. Please contact the court for your options.
