Ready & Resilient: September is National Preparedness Month
September is National Preparedness Month and the City of Milwaukie, along with the Clackamas County Fire Department, is committed to supporting a more disaster resilient community. The month-long preparedness campaign serves as a reminder that action must be taken now and throughout the year to prepare for the types of emergencies that can affect us where we live, work or often visit.
If disaster strikes, there might not be access to food, water or electricity for an extended period of time. After a large scale disaster, emergency responders may be delayed for several hours or even days. Individuals, families and neighborhoods can help improve their resilience by following the action plans in the Ready & Resilient campaign.
