Overview

The Engineering Department provides quality engineering services to ensure that all city utilities, including wastewater collection, water, streets and storm water infrastructure, meet all municipal code requirements, are efficiently managed at the lowest cost to ratepayers, and serve the long-term needs of the community.

Primary Functions:

  • Provide design and construction management for all capital improvement projects.
  • Recommend updates to the adopted 6-year Capital Improvement Plan based on adopted utility master plans and current needs. Provide orderly implementation of the projects from the 6-year Capital Improvement Plan.
  • Support efforts to increase funding sources for infrastructure, particularly for street maintenance.
  • Develop an equitable sewage treatment agreement in conjunction with Clackamas County's Water Environment Services. Help identify alternative opportunities in sewage treatment for Council consideration.
  • Implement the Neighborhood Traffic Management Program, School Trip Safety Program, and Transportation System Plan. Support the Public Safety Advisory Committee.
