City Hall

New Milwaukie City Hall (September 2023)

MILWAUKIE CITY HALL
10501 SE Main Street

Milwaukie's fourth and current city hall building (2023-present) was built in 2002-2003 by Electra (Advantis) Credit Union and served as the credit union's headquarters for 16 years. In 2019, Advantis sold the building to the city and in September 2023 city staff moved into the building. The community dedicated the building as city hall on October 6, 2023

Milwaukie's third city hall (1938-2023; see photo below) was built by the city with funding from the federal Public Works Administration (PWA). Third city hall was located on the same block as one of the city's original public school buildings. The building was occupied by all city departments on August 4, 1938, and would faithfully serve the community until 2023. For more information on the next use of historic city hall, visit the project webpage (link below).

Milwaukie's second city hall (1906-1938; see photo below) was built by the city in 1906 and was located at the corner of 21st Avenue and Monroe Street, where the parking lot for today's Portland Waldorf School is located. The second city hall included all city offices on the second floor and the fire department on the first floor.

Milwaukie's first city hall (1903-1906; see photo below) was located in rented space on the second floor of the Woodsman of the World (W.O.W.) building that once stood at the corner of Jefferson and Main streets.
