Information About Milwaukie's No Cause Eviction Ordinance

In April 2016, the Milwaukie City Council adopted an ordinance to declare a housing emergency in the city in response to recent reports about the evolving housing shortage in the region. In addition, the Council adopted an ordinance to increase renter protections, curb no-cause evictions, and provide tenants enough time to find housing, should they be asked to leave. Downtown Wayfinding Systems Plan

Wayfinding in Downtown Milwaukie!

The city has an adopted Wayfinding Plan for downtown and we are in Phase 1 implementation! 

Phase 1 was funded by a combination of city funds and a grant from Metro. A total of 14 vehicular and pedestrian signs, as well as an information kiosk, will be installed as part of Phase 1 and will be completed by July 2019. However, those signs affected by construction projects on Washington St and at the Ledding Library will be installed at a later time.

Fact Sheet: Air Quality Monitoring Near Precision Castparts

On March 29, 2016, the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) began air monitoring to collect samples at properties adjacent to, and in the vicinity of, the Precision Castparts facility at SE Harney Drive and SE 45th Avenue in Portland. The purpose of the monitoring is to determine if heavy metals associated with the facility's superalloy/steel casting foundry emissions are present above human health risk-based concentrations.
