Portion of 21st Ave. to be closed for Light Rail-related road and intersection improvements

A small portion of of 21st Avenue between Jefferson and Washington Streets will be closed starting Wednesday, March 12th. The closure is expected to be two to three weeks.

The contractor will demolish and reconstruct this portion of street just north of Washington Street, constructing a new curb extension and sidewalk on the west side of the street, a new sidewalk ramp on the northwest corner, a concrete crosswalk, and installing new signal and streetlight pole foundations.

Traffic will be signed to detour around the block. The on-street parking on 21st Avenue north of our work zone will still be available for parking but one additional parking space will be removed on each side of the street just north of the barricades to allow cars to use that space to turn around.
