Name the Portland - Milwaukie Light Rail bridge over the Willamette River
TriMet is inviting the public to name the new bridge that’s being constructed over the Willamette River as part of the Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail Project.
Suggested names can be submitted through TriMet’s website, www.trimet.org/namethebridge, through Dec. 1st. The bridge will be one of a kind - only carrying buses, trains, cyclists and pedestrians - no private vehicles.
A selection committee, chaired by Chet Orloff, Director Emeritus of the Oregon Historical Society and a 22-year member of the Oregon Geographic Names Board, will pare down all of the submittals to a short list for further public comment.
Final names will be forwarded by the committee to the TriMet General Manager for final selection in spring 2014. Enter your idea for a chance of becoming a part of history.
