City Services Example Page
The City provides a variety of services for residential and commercial customers. A staff of about 150 people, located in four City buildings, assist and support the population.
Ledding Library – The Ledding Library, located at 21st Ave and Harrison St in downtown, houses thousands of volumes and an active events calendar.
City Hall – City Hall is also located downtown at Main St and Harrison St.
City Recorder – The City Recorder's Office has been identified as one of the oldest public service professions, along with the tax assessor, in existence.
Community Services – Community Services works to preserve and enhance community livability by facilitating and supporting public discussion and involvement.
Finance – The City’s finance staff is committed to the fiscal integrity and transparency of the finances of the City.
Municipal Court – The Municipal Court staff can answer questions about court schedule, bail amounts, and other administrative matters.
Community Development & Public Works – The Community Development and Public Works Facility is located at Johnson Creek Blvd and Linwood Ave.
Building – The Building Department provides information about building code and permit requirements, coordinates the permitting process, and provides inspection services to residents and property owners.
Community Development – The Community Development Department is responsible for delivering services that improve the physical assets and features of the City.
Engineering – The Engineering Department acts as the steward of the public right-of-way and provides quality engineering services to ensure that all city utilities and infrastructure are efficiently managed and serve the long-term needs of the community.
Maps/GIS – The GIS (Geographic Information Systems) department supplies mapping services to the public, City Planners, Engineers, Public Works, and other City departments.
Planning – The Planning Department works on development review and permitting, code and policy changes, and supports the Community Development Director on projects of community and regional significance.
Public Works – Public Works encompasses the Streets, Stormwater, Water, Streets, Fleet and Facilities Departments.
Public Safety Building – The Public Safety Building is located at 3400 SE Harrison St, near 32nd Ave.
Information Systems Technology (IST) – IST serves the data, networking and voice needs of City staff and associated agencies.
Police Department – The Milwaukie Police Department is dedicated to providing the finest police service possible.
