Parks and Recreation Board (PARB)

The PARB advises the City Council on issues and policies affecting Milwaukie's recreation programs and facilities. The Board of 7 appointed members is responsible for: surveying recreation and leisure time needs; advising the Council on park and recreation needs; identifying future park locations; ensuring the development of park master plans; exploring park and recreation needs through consolidating grounds and programs with local schools; identifying park acquisition and development priorities and recommending methods of financing; establishing, evaluating, and monitoring maintenance standards of parks; and other activities as the Council may assign. The PARB typically meets the fourth Wednesday of the month at 4:30 p.m. online using Zoom. Board meetings are open to the public and visitors are encouraged to comment on the projects and tasks being considered by the Board. 

The City owns all public parks located within the City Limits of Milwaukie and maintains an intergovernmental agreement with the North Clackamas Parks & Recreation District (NCPRD) for operational and maintenance services of the parks.  The City's staff liaison to the Board is Natalie Rogers, Climate Action and Sustainability Coordinator, who can be reached at rogersn@milwaukieoregon.gov or 503-786-7668.
