Planning Commission

The Planning Commission's responsibilities include making recommendations to the City Council regarding zoning and any long range planning activities that require Council approval. The Commission is also the decision making authority on Type III review land use proposals, including Variance and Conditional Use requests.

Overview

The planning department works with residents and community leaders to develop long range planning documents which guide the growth and development of the community.

Planning Projects

The Planning Department is continuously involved with projects that address the long-term evolution of Milwaukie, improving livability now, and improvements to development regulations

Project Maps

Metro provided an initial map of the Habitat Conservation Areas (HCAs) in Milwaukie that will be subject to the new Title 13 regulations.

Land Use and Development Review Code Tune-Up Project

The tune-up project will result in a Zoning Code that will put adopted City-wide plans to work for a better city.

Historic Resources & Preservation

Properties listed as "Significant" on the City's 1988 Historic Inventory are subject to review of some exterior alterations and all demolition requests.
