Neighborhood Grant Program
The city allocates funds annually to each of Milwaukie's Neighborhood District Associations (NDA) to use towards improving each neighborhood and the community. Each neighborhood is granted $4,000 per fiscal year.
Explore the latest NDA Annual Grant Program Report (July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023) to learn about how this public resource is used to support community building events and activities in each of Milwaukie's seven neighborhoods.
If you are interested in proposing a project please follow these steps:
- Review the Neighborhood District Association Grants Policy (Last updated April 2022) to learn more about what is funded through this program to determine if your proposal is eligible to receive funding. If you are confident that your proposal is eligible after reviewing the policy, please move to the next step below. If you are unsure if your proposal is eligible after reviewing the policy, please contact Jason Wachs, the Community Engagement Coordinator, at wachsj@milwaukieoregon.gov or at 503.786.7568.
- If you are confident that your proposal is eligible for a grant through this program complete the NDA Grant Application below and then contact the NDA Chair to schedule a time to talk to the neighborhood about your request. You can request funding from one or more NDAs depending upon the scope of the project.
- Please keep in mind that NDAs considering grant proposals for grant funding will need to discuss the proposal at a regulary scheduled monthly NDA meeting and then vote on the proposal at the next regularly scheduled monthly NDA meeting. There are some exceptions to this, but requests generally take two months to review so please be sure to build in enough time before you need funding for the NDA to go through the proper review process.
